"I'm Really Happy To Get Back Home"

Zidane Re-hired As Real Madrid Manager

Today it was announced that Zinedine Zidane has been re-hired as manager of Real Madrid. "I'm Really Happy to get back home" said Zidane during the press conference. In his first spell at Real, Zizou won La Liga, 3 Champions Leagues and finished with around a 70% win percentage. Since he left the club last summer, they have signed and fired Julian Lopetegui and most recently Santi Solari. Real are currently sitting 12 points behind league leader's, Barcelona and they've been knocked out of both the Copa del Rey and the Champions League. Solari's fate seemed sealed when Ajax won 4-1 at the Bernabeu, knocking Real Madrid out of the Champions League. The next day Spanish paper, Mundo Deportivo called the game, "A grand fiasco." Now with Zidane back at the helm, Real Madrid fans will hope he can bring success back to the Bernabeu.

What Do I Think?

Zidane captained France to the World Cup final in 2006 and he took the qualities of a captain with him during his first spell as manager of Real Madrid. Throughout that spell he got all of the players (except Bale) on his side and working as a unit. He also was never afraid to bench Ronaldo for the good of the team and his presence on the sidelines always seemed to calm everyone down in tense situations. At the time I thought he was one of, if not the best man-managers in the world. All of this makes Zidane the perfect manager to bring in a star signing next summer because he would handle the player's ego very well. With the right replacement for Ronaldo and if he keeps everyone calm, Zidane could prove himself as a manager once again.
